A carnival organized as a show : paying access, on all the route, such is the carnival of Nice organized in several sessions distributed over a couple of weeksYou will find here some photos of what is called 'Battle of flowers' which has nothing of a battle and exchanges of flowers as originally, but which consists of flowers thrown down from floats or directly offered to the spectators by the actors of the parade. The spectators, them, wisely sit, or tidied up behind barriers along the Walk of the Promenade des Anglais all the accesses of which had been blocked and filled by big panels preventing any stolen look. Such a carnival has nothing to do with those whom we see in Switzerland, in Germany or in number of the other cities in France,to the totally free accesses. (See those of Basel and Zurich, in french, on this Website). But even if it is paying, the carnival of Nice and its flowers celebration is rather photogenic, |
