The photography of the week

Photos here presented are either photos really taken in the week, or photos selected on a close date or then much more ancient or being able to result from a recent scan of ancient argentic images. They can besides find themselves afterward in a series.

In the board - diary below every week send back to the page of the photo of the week, published on every Sunday or Monday.

All photos posted on this site (very rare exceptions, reported) are of publication quality of A4 in A2 (depending on the type of original). They are published here in small format to prevent unauthorized duplication.
They are all covered by copyright (see terms of use). Any request to use will be examined.
The following page presents (in French) the various qualities of originals.

Rather often the subjects proposed here are illustrated by engravings and old texts.

... Question of vocabulary :
If you look on Google, in the section Images, for the photography of the week you will obtain illustrations with rather 'artistic' dominants - between 1,8 and 2 billion results in July, 2012.
On the other hand if you make one search on the terms photo of the week, in the same section, you will obtain especially images of type 'celebrity' resulting from sites of press or from social networks - approximately 10 times more results (between 19 and 20 billions according to days).

The translation French towards English was realized by the on-line software Reverso and by Google-translation.
I tried to correct the nonsense, but he has to stay there, because my English is rather school.
